Land Lines

Land Lines reflects on the ways landscapes are shaped through everyday acts of labour. Made across seasonal ponds in Siem Reap, the photographs consider how people engage with environments where land and water are constantly shifting.

In many parts of Cambodia, small-scale aquaculture and fishing practices rely on subtle interventions in the landscape. Nets, ponds, embankments, and paths create temporary structures that guide the movement of water and fish.

These interventions leave traces on the land. Rather than fixed boundaries, the lines they form remain provisional, adjusting to seasonal cycles, water levels, and changing environmental conditions.
