Rural Electrical Fund
Commissioned by the Rural Electrification Fund (REF), this photographic series documents the people and communities connected through Cambodia’s rural electrification program.
For more than twenty years, REF has worked to expand access to affordable and reliable electricity across rural Cambodia. Through partnerships with private companies and the promotion of renewable energy, the program supports the extension of power infrastructure to villages, homes, farms, schools, and local businesses in areas that were previously beyond the national grid.
The photographs were made across several provinces and follow the work of technicians, healthcare workers, teachers, and local residents whose daily lives are shaped by access to electricity. From the installation and maintenance of electrical lines to the use of solar power, refrigeration for medicine, and lighting for schools and homes, the images document the practical ways energy supports community life.
The series highlights both the people working within the Rural Electrification Fund and the communities connected through its initiatives.
